Bird Watching

Salomon leads birding expeditions at all times of day and night, between altitudes of 1,200 and 3,700 meters, depending on what types of birds you wish to see.

Common birds spotted in, or near, Las Tolas include:

Choco Toucan, Chestnut-mandibilled Toucan, Club-winged Manakin, Masked Trogon

Rare Birds Spotted in, or near, Las Tolas include:

Long-wattled Umbrella Bird, Gallo de la Peña Andino (Andean Cock-of-the-Rock), Black-breasted Puffleg

Hummingbirds are regular visitors to Las Tolas and are wonderful birds to sit and watch for an hour in the afternoon.

A basic day hike with Salomon will cost $30 per person.
